Capraleccia offers everything you would expect to find on a country estate in Tuscany: olives, Mediterranean fruit and vegetables, wine, herbs... . Our entire estate is farmed organically. This means that we try to minimize the human impact on the environment by using production methods that are as gentle on nature as possible. All products of Capraleccia are therefore organic.
The romantic olive grove on the Capraleccia was laid out in terraces by farmers in past generations.
Vines and even fruit trees were planted between the olive trees - a model for a mixed culture that is modern again today.
Among our numerous fruit trees you will also find some rarities. Have you ever seen a medlar, or a western strawberry tree? We process the fruits into delicious fruit spreads and chutneys.
In our passionately managed organic garden, we focus on working with nature: composting, mulching, organic fertilization, and availing ourselves of useful helpers from the animal and plant worlds.
This is an acknowledgement of humankind living alongside other beings, and of the fact that we can only continue to flourish if we respect other living things.
The most typical grape variety in Tuscany – Sangiovese - is traditionally grown and cultivated here.
We maintain existing vines and supplement them with new ones.
